Frequently Asked Questions
Life casting is a detailed process of creating a 3D replica of a part of the body, such as hands, feet, or even faces. The cast captures every line, crease, and detail, preserving a unique moment in time.
We use alginate, a skin-safe, non-toxic molding material applied to the skin to capture every detail. Once set, the mold is carefully removed, and a casting material, like plaster, is poured in to create the final, durable piece.
The casting process usually lasts between 5 and 20 minutes, depending on the size and complexity of the piece. However, the entire appointment may take up to 1 hour, which includes time for preparing materials and the workspace, as well as discussing your specific frame and color choices.
We offer mobile life-casting services where we bring the entire process to your location. This is perfect for families with young children, pets, or those who prefer the comfort of their own home.
All of our life castings take approximately 2-3 months to complete. Each piece goes through multiple stages of refining to ensure the highest quality. If you require your casting for a specific occasion, such as Christmas or a special event, we will do our best to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee deadlines. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding, and we will contact you as soon as your casting is ready for collection or delivery.
